Day 1 – Arrival in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Mongolia’s vibrant capital, Ulaanbaatar. Visit the famous Gandan Monastery, experience a traditional Mongolian folklore performance, and explore the historic Choijin Lama Museum.
Day 2 – Ulaanbaatar to Amarbayasgalant Monastery
Drive north to the magnificent Amarbayasgalant Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in Mongolia, beautifully set among forested hills.
Day 3 – Amarbayasgalant Monastery
Enjoy a relaxed day exploring the monastery complex and surrounding landscapes, with time for cultural immersion and photography.
Day 4 – Amarbayasgalant to Urantogoo
Travel to the scenic volcanic area of Urantogoo, known for its unique lava formations and tranquil natural setting.
Day 5 – Urantogoo to Murun
Continue your journey to Murun, the provincial capital of northern Mongolia and the gateway to Lake Khovsgol.
Day 6 – Murun to Khatgal / Lake Khovsgol
Drive to Khatgal and arrive at the pristine Lake Khovsgol, often called the “Blue Pearl of Mongolia.” Overnight in a traditional ger camp.
Day 7 – Lake Khovsgol
A full day at leisure by Lake Khovsgol. Enjoy walking along the lakeshore, optional horseback riding, or simply relax and take in the stunning alpine scenery.
Day 8 – Lake Khovsgol to Shine-Ider
Journey south through beautiful steppe and mountain landscapes to Shine-Ider. Overnight camping in tents.
Day 9 – Shine-Ider to Khorgo Volcano
Travel to Khorgo Volcano, part of the UNESCO-listed Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. Stay in a guest ger or guesthouse.
Day 10 – Khorgo Volcano
Rest day at Khorgo Volcano. Explore the volcanic crater, lava caves, and nearby scenic areas.
Day 11 – Khorgo Volcano to Tsenkher Hot Springs
Drive to the famous Tsenkher Hot Springs. Relax in naturally heated mineral pools surrounded by mountain scenery.
Day 12 – Tsenkher Hot Springs to Kharkhorin
Travel to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire, and visit the historic Erdene Zuu Monastery.
Day 13 – Kharkhorin to Elsen Tasarkhai to Ulaanbaatar
Drive through the Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes, known as the “Mini Gobi,” before returning to Ulaanbaatar.
Day 14 – Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii to Sagsai
Fly to Ulgii in western Mongolia and continue to Sagsai. Visit the famous Golden Eagle Festival. Overnight in a ger camp.
Day 15 – Sagsai – Golden Eagle Festival
A full day attending the Golden Eagle Festival, showcasing the spectacular skills of Kazakh eagle hunters.
Day 16 – Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Drive to the remote Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, home to Mongolia’s highest peaks and majestic glaciers.
Day 17 – Altai Tavan Bogd / Potanin Glacier
Rest day with hiking opportunities to the impressive Potanin Glacier and surrounding alpine landscapes.
Day 18 – Return to Sagsai or Ulaankhus
Return drive to Sagsai or Ulaankhus, enjoying the dramatic scenery of the Altai region.
Day 19 – Drive to Ulgii
Travel back to Ulgii, the capital of Bayan-Ölgii Province.
Day 20 – Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar
Fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Free time for shopping, sightseeing, or relaxation.
Day 21 – Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure from Mongolia.
